Hey there guys. so here's what's going on. i really need help from anybody who'd be willing to assist me. I've decided to draw and digitally color a picture for my best friend as his christmas present. see, i've already got the linearts about finished, but here's the problem. Both horses i drew for him are wildly colored. The art is for my best guy frind, Dylan [who i talk about constantly... he's pretty much my soul mate], ad it's very special to me that i get it done. i want it to look perfect, like, idk how to explain it. The horses i chose are hore that were and are very dear to him, Rawhide and Shamrock. you see, Rawhide was his baby... that horse loved him to death. She was such a rough character.. but she simply adored dylan and would do anything he asked of her. Sadly though, last winter she got hung up in a busted hayring and ripped all the ligaments in hr left front leg. she had to be put down. Dylan misses her dearly, and i really needed to includeher in the art. Shamrock on the other hand, is Dylan's current equine companion. I wanted to get both horses together in one piece of art, and it's coming along beautifully so far.

so here's where i need help. Rawhide is a red roan with a flaxen mane and tail, and Shamrock is a dark palomino tobiano. see i'm not so great at colorng yet... and i dont want to screw up. any tutorials, help, tips, ANYTHING would be a great help. i really dont want to mess this up, as it's ver special for me to do and give to Dylan, and i'm struggling to stay artistically optimistic, even though i'm stressed out and panicing about the coloring. my goal in the end is to have it turn out like some of you out there would do it.

not to mention, the background is also something i'm spazzing out about. i've never done a background before. ahhh like idk. i need to calm down. yah so you're probably like "why nt have it commissioned?" well, it's because dylan and i are really close, and eventhough i probably will end up commissioning a version of it, i still would really like to see myself actually succeed in this piece of art.
